Travel Trailer Doll House

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

This travel trailer doll house turned out to a fun project for the staff at the RV Art Gallery. The kit includes wood parts for the body, wheels, front stand, table and chairs! We took a trip to our local craft and hobby store, where we found an ample supply and choices for wall paper, flooring, paint, brushes, wood putty, glue, etc.

Whether you are a skilled craft person or a beginner the kit will engage you in hours of focused assembly.

The top and back are open, so doll house play is a definite possibility.

The dimensions are  23″ W x 8″ D x 9″ H (plus 5 ½” hitch).

The History of RVing in Miniature

By John Brunkowski & Michael Closen soft cover 126 pages

RV enthusiats and RV Toy Collectors John Brunkowski and Michael Closen turned authors in writing about their huge collection of toy RVs. With extensive photograpy and documentation, they detail the history and features of their more than 1,000 piece RV toy collection. The collection features everything from painted tin to precise scale models and from all over the world.

Rick Luhr, Editor & Publisher of AIRSTREAM LIFE magazine writes in the foreword of the book,

“I think RV toys resonate so strongly wih many people because they appeal to two favorite subjects, travel and play. An RV toy is both a tangible reminder of our lost childhoods, and they are icons of travel and adventure… In many ways, toys RVs are better than the real thing. You don’t need a week’s vacation… With just a few minutes you can take a your little RV for a refreshing vacation and then put it back on the shelf. The fuel tank is filled only with your imagination and the road ahead is always worth traveling.”

The book can be purchased at the RV Art Gallery and in addition, a dozen of the toys featured in the book may be purchased from the store.
